Volunteer with Us

If you’re interested in volunteering with the OPRF Infant Welfare Society, there are many ways to get involved. You can help develop activities and projects for the families we serve, volunteer in the IWS Children’s Clinic, assist in organizing fundraising events, or serve on a committee.

No matter what you choose, you can be sure you’re making a difference in the lives of children.

  • Help organize our annual coat drive. We provide cold weather gear to our patients and their families.

  • Each August we hold a back pack fair at OPRF IWS. We’d love your help providing school supplies for children in need as well as organizing the backpacks prior to the event.

  • Engage families at local community events to promote the programs and services of the OPRF Infant Welfare Society and the IWS Children’s Clinic. Must commit to attending a minimum of 5 events over the summer.

If you are interested, please email your resume and letter of intent to Audrey Greffin, Director of Grants & Outreach: agreffin@oprfiws.org

  • Love thrifting? Come help out in the OPRF IWS room at The Economy Shop in Oak Park. It is a great way to combine volunteering with some great thrifting too!

  • We have many events -- from our popular Holiday Housewalk and Market to nutrition classes and health education programs as well as a number of other fun events – all of which need volunteer help. This is a great way to get involved!

  • At the IWS Children’s Clinic, each child picks out a book to take home after an appointment. Help us keep this program organized, make sure we have enough books to share, and help the children select a book to call their own.

  • Help us provide a festive holiday party for patients and their families at the annual holiday party.

  • Make a patient’s holiday dreams come true. Purchase gifts for a family, interview families to understand their needs, or volunteer on gift pick up days.

  • We have therapy pets visit the IWS Children’s Clinic on a regular basis to help keep kids calm and engaged. For each pet visit, we need a volunteer on site. Welcome and encourage patients to visit therapy dogs or bunnies. Free snuggles for you too!

  • We bring our services to schools in various communities during the school year through our Portable Dental Clinic.

Portable Dentistry Volunteer: Assist Portable Dental Program during school visits by helping with setup of equipment, organizing paperwork, and engaging students between exams. Must commit to a minimum of 10 school visits per academic year.

Portable Dentistry Admin Support Volunteer: Prepare and organize paperwork for the school-based Portable Dental Program, before and after visits. Must commit to at least 3 months of programming support.

If you are interested in either opportunity, please email your resume and letter of intent to Audrey Greffin, Director of Grants & Outreach: agreffin@oprfiws.org.
